So tonight.
Wow. Tonight.
Basically, a worship tour had come to my church, so it was only natural to go. I figured I could do with some raw worship, and I felt like having a laugh with some friends. (Which I did, by the way. The drummer was like a cross between Moriarty and Mycroft.) And I got a bit fed up with one of said friends, who is… well, I can’t quite put it into words. But she really gets on my nerves. She seems to have an attachment to people with some level of importance, and she’s so attention-seeking. She has a lot of qualities that I used to have, back when I was an awkward, anti-social, insecure teenager.
And there’s the thing I found tonight. The reason I dislike her so much, is because she so emphatically embodies what I dislike about myself. She’s a lovely person and she has many, many wonderful qualities, but she reminds me of what’s wrong with me and I don’t like that.
There wasn’t some great enlightened moment, no sobbing in the Spirit or anything more than some heartfelt worship for me tonight. But all the same, it meant the absolute world. Here comes freedom!
